On Feb 3, OSC held our second hybrid house tournament and potluck at clubmate Gerda’s house. For the first time, I tried out the woogles IRL tournament management software, which worked out great, with player scorecards that included personalized QR codes for seamless and ultra efficient electronic score entry.
I made improvements to the IRL tournament experience and ran a successful tournament in Montclair, NJ using Woogles tournament mode. Read more to see these new improvements.
We have a couple of “how to run a tournament” guides on Woogles that give an in-depth breakdown of how our tournament mode works, but Rameez volunteered to write a post about his own experiences running clubs and tournaments on Woogles. This should be a great addendum to those guides.
I ran a real-life tournament using Woogles tournament mode. While we’re still making tweaks to make it ready for prime-time, things worked out great! Plus we built some scripts to automatically generate scorecards for our players.
